Coconut Oil for Dry Baby Skin: A Gentle Routine
Baby skin can dry out fast, especially after baths and in cold, dry weather. Coconut Baby is just three organic oils: coconut, sunflower and grapeseed. Smooth a little on after the bath to help keep skin soft.
An after-bath routine for dry baby skin
- Pat, don't rub. After a short, lukewarm bath, pat your baby dry with a soft towel. Leave the skin a little damp.
- Warm a little in your hands. Scoop a small amount of Coconut Baby and rub it between your palms until it melts.
- Smooth it on. Use light strokes over dry spots like cheeks, arms, legs and hands. Keep it away from the eyes.
Try a small area first, and stop if you see redness or irritation. Start small: a thin layer goes a long way. Add more to dry spots during the day as needed.

Coconut Baby or Moisturizing Baby Oil?

Why is my oil solid, or melted?
Coconut Baby changes with temperature: firmer in a cool room, softer when warm. Both are normal, and it's the same oil either way.
My baby's scalp is dry and flaky. What should I do?
Yellow or white flakes on the scalp may be cradle cap. See our cradle cap routine.
When should I call the doctor?
Call your pediatrician if the skin looks red, cracked, oozing or weepy, if a rash spreads, if your baby seems itchy or uncomfortable, if dryness doesn't get better, or any time you're worried.
Coconut Baby is an everyday moisturizer, not a medicine.
