Coconut Essentials was born out of necessity. When my husband and I were having our first baby, it was impossible to find natural and safe baby oils. They just didn’t exist.
We started Coconut Essentials as an answer to that problem and knew that there were other parents out there in need of the same solution. Over a decade later, Coconut Baby and our other products have become staples for many new mothers and babies.
So from our family to yours, we’d like to express our gratitude. Because of you, we can continue to produce and spread the word about the importance and effectiveness of chemical-free skincare for babies and moms. Our Family Story
When my husband and I were expecting our first baby, about 15 years ago, we wanted to find skin and hair care products that were safe for my developing baby and me. Every store we went to had nothing we felt comfortable with.
Products may have said “All Natural” or lauded their “gentleness,” but when I looked at the ingredients, the labels were filled with chemicals or agents I couldn’t pronounce or simply didn’t understand. It was frustrating.
My husband and I took that experience and created our own product, one that’s free of chemicals and artificial fragrances. Coconut Essentials goes beyond empty promises by showing off our formulas and labels that are easy to understand. We want you to have confidence in the safety of our products, and the best way to ensure that is with label transparency and term clarity.
Our Simple Ingredients
As our name implies, we use coconut oil in our products, never mineral oils. For most products, we use cold-pressed, unrefined, organic oil. The one exception to that is our Moisturizing Baby Oil, where we use 100% fractionated coconut oil. This simply means the oil goes through minimal processing to remove some fatty compounds, allowing the oil to remain in a constant liquid state.
The rest of our Coconut product line combines coconut oil with other plant-based oils, such as sunflower or grapeseed oil. These additional oils contain linoleic acid, which helps with absorption and skin barrier protection.
